Hello VOX!

While I'm not entirely new to blogging, I wouldn't say that I'm a pro or anything either.  I have another blog site on blogger (tjmimms.blogspot.com).  It's more of a 'keeping in touch with family' blog.  Just with snippets of what's going on in our lives and many pictures of our son Austin for the grandparents. ;-)  I wanted to try out my own blog.  Something not related to 'keeping in touch with family'.  Somewhere I could just post about things that matter/interest me and see if maybe they matter/interest to others.  I found out about Vox through Leo Laporte's website www.leoville.com.  Saw that he had a blog here and figured I would check it out.  So with my version of 'Hello World" I say, "Hello VOX!"

Hello, Leo! Thanks for coming by my blog. Vox so far is really a nice idea. I'm liking it very much. Except today it won't let me leave comments on my own blog. Isn't that rude.

Actually my name is Tony. Leo is is the leader of the TWiT army. Curious if you are from St. Louis. I'm a huge Cards fan and grew up in the STL area. Moved out here to Ga. a couple years ago.

Oh, sorry, Tony! Eyes skipped a line. Yeah, I'm in the St. Louis area. Because of KMOX, there are Cardinal fans all over the country, but I think they grow Braves fans down in Georgia, don't they?

Unfortunately KMOX doesn't carry the Cards anymore. If they did, I would definitely listen to it with Fox on tv muted. I can't stand Tim McCarver. It's pretty wild though, I can listen to KMOX on my way to work in the mornings. Some places I pick it up as good as if I was driving from St. Charles to St. Louis on HWY 70. They grow Braves fans here but we're trying to change that, starting with our son Austin, the little guy in my avatar pick.

Yeah, I don't like to listen to McCarver either. I remember in one of the Series when Herzog was coaching, McCarver started criticizing where Herzog had put (I think) the third baseman, and right after he said it, the ball was hit right to the third baseman. Hunh. Wish I had it on tape.

Nothing big behind the face. He was just starting to get tired and he had the cutest yawn going. My wife snapped a couple pictures of it and I just thought this one turned out really cool.

Heck of a game three by Carpenter!!! I just wish they would have let him at least start the ninth inning to see if he could get the complete game. Series now 2-1 Cards!!!!!

I'm glad they took him out. He'd been sitting in that cold air, his thumb evidently was bruised, and we may (probably) need him for another game. He may be a Cy Young winner, but he ain't no Gibson!
